Terms and Conditions

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Sentrian’s (“Sentrian”) course training services Terms and Conditions.

Please note that these terms and conditions do not apply to tailored closed cohort solutions. Separate terms and conditions are issued for these as part of the relevant services agreement.

The terms and conditions (“Terms”) below govern enrolments into Sentrian’s public training courses and workshops advertised via http://sentrian.com.au includng conversations made via telephone, virtual meetings, by email or in person.

Sentrian reserves the right to change the particulars of the services, including changes to prices, courses, facilities, and dates of programs, where circumstances beyond Sentrian’s control necessitate such changes or where the level of enrolments does not reach the minimum numbers required to operate a course viably. Sentrian also reserves the right to change course fees and these Terms for any reason, at any time and without notice.

If you proceed with an enrolment (whether through http://sentrian.com.au over the telephone, by email or in person), you are deemed to have accepted the Terms and agreed to comply at all times with Sentrian’s policies and procedures and that you are responsible for informing yourself of the requirements applicable to you by accessing the policies and procedures available.

Any application or order received by Sentrian is an offer by you to enroll in a course at the price notified at the time of your application or order, and you acknowledge the Terms apply to any such offer.

Application, Enrolment, Transfers and Cancellations

You understand upon enrolling for a short course that you are obligated to pay for that course, remain liable for the fees, and it is not refundable unless the scheduled course is fully cancelled by Sentrian without being rescheduled in the 12 months following the original enrolment course end date.

You understand that if you cannot attend a short course you have enrolled in, you must contact Sentrian at least 2 weeks prior to the course start date and either:

  • • Provide a substitute attendee to the short course.
  • • Request your enrolment in the short course be changed to the same course at a future date

Unless paying via credit card, you understand that payment must be made within 14 calendar days after the invoice is issued by Sentrian, and at least 48 hours before the date of the training course.

You understand that you can only change your course enrolment details (date, course, attendee).

You understand that if an invoice-based payment method is used and any fees are not paid by the due date, Sentrian may charge a late payment fee. If Sentrian deems it necessary to engage a debt collection agency to collect the outstanding amount, all costs associated with debt recovery will be added to the outstanding debt.

Course Delivery

You agree that all lessons and any related material supplied by Sentrian are secured by copyright. You understand that any unauthorised copying may constitute a breach of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) (as amended from time to time).

You acknowledge and accept that Sentrian cannot be held responsible for any technical problems encountered, such as:

  • • The operation of the internet and the World Wide Web, including but not limited to viruses.
  • • Any firewall restrictions that have been placed on your network or the computer you are using to access any course materials and suggested programs or applications.
  • • Failures of telecommunications links and equipment.
  • • Browser application version issues.

Course delivery will occur in an appropriate venue of our choosing, including but not limited to third-party venues.

Sentrian maintains a Privacy Policy which can be viewed here Privacy Policy | Sentrian IT Services. In addition to the provisions of this policy, you authorise Sentrian to:

  • • Share only the minimum information necessary with third parties to provide diagnostic tools, training venues, and feedback mechanisms.
  • • Release administrative information concerning your performance and completion of the course (including academic progress and attendance information) to any person who may lawfully require that information, as well as agents and potential employers. If you do not agree, you must advise Sentrian in writing.
Media Consent

These media consent terms applies to all students of course training provided by: Sentrian

The Privacy Amendment Act 2001 imposes obligations upon organisations collecting personal information to protect that information.

Sentrian Australia Pty Ltd (“Sentrian”) carries out ongoing marketing and communication activities to maintain a positive profile. Images of individuals in photographs or film are treated as personal information under the Privacy Act where the person’s identity is clear or can reasonably be worked out from that image.

Photos, video footage and work samples of students are used regularly by Sentrian for a number of purposes and under current legislation this practice can continue. These situations are generally for the purpose of acknowledging the efforts of the student or Sentrian, or for promotion of Sentrian brands.

Written consent will be sought from a student to identify them (by image or name) for marketing and/or promotional purposes.

A student should notify Sentrian immediately if any circumstance arises that would prevent Sentrian from using a student’s photo, video images or work samples.

No remuneration is offered to students for whom consent is given to take part in marketing or promotional activities.

At all times, ownership of any material obtained from the above activities will vest with Sentrian.

This consent applies to any use, recording or disclosure of the individual’s name, recording or image, individual work and personal information, including but not limited to:

  • • Any activities engaged in during the ordinary course of the provision of education and training including graduation ceremonies and workshops.
  • • Assessment of students and other purposes associated with the provision of education.
  • • Public relations, promotion, advertising, media and commercial activities.
  • • Use by the media in relation to activities that show the individual in a positive light, e.g., scholarships.
  • • Any other activities as sanctioned by Sentrian.

I acknowledge that the material may continue to be used for a number of years, even once the person’s enrolment has ceased, and that some of the products in which the material is used may have extended longevity.

‘Use’ includes:

  • • To create, make copies of, reproduce or retain in any form, including by camera, video, webcam, closed circuit television, mobile phone or any other form of digital recorder or device, including still or motion;
  • • To distribute, publish or communicate in any form, including in newsletters and other print media, television and the Internet, in whole or in part, and to permit other persons to do so.
Force Majeure

Sentrian will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations that is caused by events outside Sentrian's reasonable control (Force Majeure Event). A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond Sentrian's reasonable control. Sentrian will use reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which obligations may be met despite the Force Majeure Event.

Australian Consumer Protection Laws

You understand that by agreeing to the Terms and through the provision of Sentrian’s Privacy Policy, this does not remove your right to take action under Australia’s consumer protection laws.
